City Council Minutes January 8, 2008 Page 8 of 10 ----------------------------- COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 08-05 DESIGNATING AND ACCEPTING BERGQUIST DRIVE AS A CITY STREET. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 12.3. Tax Forfeit Land Mike Loven explained that the County has informed the City of a classification of four tax forfeited lots to "Non-Conservation" which means that they will be put up for future sale. Mike explained that the City may be interested in purchasing the lots for future storm water storage purposes. He informed the Council that the City would be required to pay the appraisal costs if the City is interested in purchasing the lots. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CLERK TO SEND A LETTER TO THE CROW WING COUNTY LAND COMMISSIONER INDICATING THE CITY IS INTERESTED IN PURSUING THE PURCHASE OF LOTS 3, 4, 5, AND 6, BLOCK 3, OF KLATTE'S ADDITION TO THE VILLAGE OF PEQUOT AND ADJACENT PORTION OF VACATED OAK STREET TO BE USED FOR FUTURE STORM WATER STORAGE AND THAT THE CITY WILL PAY THE APPRAISAL COSTS. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 12.4. Letter of Support for County Protect Mike Loven stated that the County Assistant Engineer is requesting a letter of support from the City for a project that could potentially receive federal funding involving CSAH 11 from east of CR 112 to CSAH 4. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO SEND A LETTER OF SUPPORT TO THE COUNTY REGARDING THE PROJECT. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 12.5. Transfer of Funds Mike Loven explained that during the year of 2007 the Street Department employees assisted the Water and Sewer Departments. Mr. Loven suggested that in order to get a true reflection of operating costs the hours that have been recorded by the Street Department employees that were spent on water and wastewater duties should be transferred to the General Fund.
