Re uest to Hire Fuil-Time Poiice OfFcer <br />Chief Klar�g stated tF�at � 0 canclidates were interviewed for the position of <br />full time police officer and that all of the required testing has been done an <br />the top two candidates. Chief Klang recommended t�at the Council hire <br />Matt Jorgens as a full time police officer to replace Rich Hogan. He is <br />currer�tly working for Pequot La�Ces as a part time officer. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO HlRE MATT JORGENS AS <br />FULL-TiME PQLICE OFFICER BEGlNNING JUNE 9, 2014, STARTING <br />AT STEP ONE OF THE PAY PLAN AND THAT QN JANUARY 1, 2014, <br />HE RECEIVE THE SAME 1NCREASE IN PAY AS OTHER UNfON <br />EMPLOYEES BASED UPON THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETEON OF <br />THE SfX-MONTH PROBATIONARY PERIOD. COUNCILMEMBER <br />GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTfON CARRIED 4-0. <br />5.1. Hi hwa 371 U date — Jim Hall ren <br />Jim HaEigren ga�e ar� update on �he s#atus of the Highway 371 project. He <br />stated that MnDOT has been successful in getting the funding which <br />places the pro�ect on schedule for tf�e fiscaf year 2018. The project will <br />include an interchange at County Road 11. He anticipates the project to <br />beg�n dunr�g the summer of 2017. Mr�DOT will begin meeting with property <br />owners that will be impactecf by the pro�ect. <br />9. Public Works <br />9.1. City Enqineer Update <br />Tim Houle presented the following updates. <br />• VWV�F Facility Plan <br />A possible new option ort regior�alization — or cooperating witt� adjacent <br />communiiies — has been brought up. We are fooking in#o how reaiistic it is <br />and how much the MPCA wili want us to consider this in the Facility Plan <br />report. <br />On the Rapid lnfiltration Basin option, in looking further at the wastewater <br />and permit requirements, we are coming to the conclusior� we ha�e to <br />acfdress total nitrogen in the wastewater before sending the e�fluent to the <br />
