September 15,2018
Project 18-412
Shovel Ready Project Sfte
Pequot Lakes,Minnesota
fine silty sand(S1Vn to depths of 7 to 14 inches.
Below the topsoil, boring SB-1 encountered fine to medium grained, silty sand(S1Vn to 2.0 feet,
followed by poorly graded sand with silt(SP-S11+n to 4.0 feet and then poorly graded sand(SP)to
termination at 26.5 feet. Below the topsoil, boring SB-2 and SB-10 encountered fine to medium
grained,poorly graded sand(SP)to termination at 14.9 feet. Below the topsoil,borings SB-3,SB-
6, SB-8 and SB-9 encounfine to medium grained, poorly graded sand with silt(SP-S1Vn to
2.0 to 3.0 feet followed by poorly graded sand(SP)to temunation at 14.9 feet. Below the topsoil,
boring SB-4 encountered fine to medium grained, silty sand(S1Vn to 4.0 feet, followed by poorly
graded sand(SP)to termination at 14.9 fee Below the topsoil, boring SB-5 encounterfine to
medium grained, poorly graded sand with silt(SP-S11to 2.0 feet followed by poorly graded sand
(SP)to 10.0 feet and then poorly graded sand with silt(SP-S1Vn termination at 14.9 feet. Below
the topsoil, boring SB-7 encountered fine to medium grained, poorly graded sand with silt(SP-
S11to 2.0 feet followed by poorly graded sand(SP)to termination at 26.5 fee
Penetration Test Resnits:
The staadard penetration blow counts in the native saz►d soils(SP,SP-SM, S1Vn ranged from 1 to
36,wluch aze very low to high, indicating that they aze in a very loose to dense conditiott. Refusal
of the spoon or auger did not occur in any of the borings. Drilling was relatively easy.
Water Level Observatlons:
Observations of the subsurface water conditions were made during drilling operations.
Groundwater was not encountered in any of the borings at the time of drilling. Free dtaining,
poorly graded sands(SP)were encountered deep in all of the borings and they were dry.
The water levels were observed over a short period of time. However,we feel the water levels
observed are an accurate representation of the true groundwater conditions on this site due to the
lugh permeability of the native sand soils.
It should be noted that fluctuations in the level of the groundwater can occur due to vaziations in
Page 3
