City Council Minutes <br /> November 10,2020 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> is an advertisement on a side of a semi-trailer which his attorney states is a <br /> freedom of speech issue. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO POSTPONE THE SIGN <br /> VIOLATION UNTIL THE MARCH 2O21 COUNCIL MEETING. SECONDED BY <br /> MAYOR TAYLOE. MOTION CARRIED 2-0. <br /> 7. Fire <br /> The September 2020 Fire Department Operations Report and the October 28, <br /> 2020 Fire Board Meeting minutes were received by Council. <br /> 7.1 Hire New Firefiqhter <br /> Fire Chief Tom Nelson asked the Council authorization to hire Trevor Kruse as a <br /> firefighter. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSEN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE HIRING OF <br /> TREVOR KRUSE AS A FIREFIGHTER. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 7.2 AFG Grant—Tanker <br /> Fire Chief Tom Nelson asked the Council to approve hiring of Widseth to help <br /> write the AFG Grant for a new tanker. Discussion ensued regarding the amount <br /> of the grant, the vehicle and the grant process. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE HIRING OF <br /> WIDSETH TO HELP WRITE THE AFG GRANT FOR THE NEW TANKER FOR <br /> THE AMOUNT OF $1,200 PLUS EXPENSES TO COME OUT OF THE FIRE <br /> FUND. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 8. Police <br /> The September 2020 Police Department Monthly Report was received by <br /> Council. <br /> 8.1 Lifesaver Award <br /> Police Chief Eric Klang presented Officer Matthew Jorgens with a Lifesaver <br /> Award for his efforts at a medical on June 25, 2020 in the 5000 block of Country <br /> Care Lane. <br /> 9. Public Works Report <br /> The October 2020 Public Works Report was received by Council. <br />
