M
City Council Minutes
September 1, 2009
----------------------- - - - - --
City Engineer Tim Houle noted that the bulk of the work is done on
the following projects: Trailside Estates, South Oak Street Project,
and West Butler and West Woodman Streets, except for the grass.
He noted that they are waiting for the vegetation to sprout.
10.1.D. Highway 371
Tim Houle noted that he has met with Staff and to review the City's
portion of the Highway 371 project. He noted that there will be a
proposal for Council summarizing where the City is at,
improvements being proposed, and estimated costs.
Council Member Ryan questioned if the City should be looking at
bringing sewer to the new development site from under the highway
rather than tying into the existing lift station. Tim Houle stated it
would be hard to determine what properties the lift station would
serve and the size of the lift station. Council Member Ryan noted
that he felt it is short-sited to look only at the present proposal.
11. City Clerk's Report
1..- Report received by Council.
11.1. Preliminary General Fund Lew and HRA Levy
The Clerk noted that at the last budget meeting on August 11, 2009, the
Council requested changes to the preliminary general fund budget and in
some instances, to some other non - general fund budgets. She stated that
these changes are reflected in the two attachments that were prepared by
Nancy Malecha. She noted that these revisions reflect a revised general
fund levy of $1,527,690 which is a 3.51% increase from the 2009 levy.
This number reflects a $59,510 decrease from the proposed levy
presented at the August 11th Council meeting.
The Clerk explained that the City will not know how this affects the City tax
rate until sometime in mid to end September.
The Clerk noted that the Council had some budget action items to be
further discussed. These items are listed in the August 11th minutes. She
noted that these items will be discussed by the Council in either October
or November prior to setting the final levy.
The Clerk stated that the HRA Levy has not changed from 2009.
M
