City Council Minutes <br />August 4, 2009 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />VOTING NAY, COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD VOTING NAY, MAYOR <br />ADAMS VOTING AYE. MOTION FAILED 3 -2. <br />The Council took no action on the request to call a public hearing to <br />establish a TIF district. <br />6. Planning and Zoninq Department Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />6.1.A. Final Plat Application 09 -3164, Final Plat of Sentinel Office Park; Peguot <br />LLC <br />Report presented by Chuck Marohn. Chuck noted that the property is <br />located at 30176 Old Highway 371. He stated that the proposed <br />subdivision is to create five lots with lots one through four used for <br />commercial and office planned unit development purposes and lot five <br />being used for shared parking and utility purposes. Mr. Marohn noted that <br />the Planning Commission is recommending approval based on findings of <br />fact. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE FINAL PLAT <br />FOR SENTINEL OFFICE PARK REQUESTED BY PEQUOT LLC <br />BASED ON SIX FINDINGS OF FACT LISTED IN THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION REPORT DATED JULY 17, 2009. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Chuck Marohn informed the Council that the Planning Commission has <br />been working for many months on a concept of a grow zone in the <br />downtown. This month there will be a public hearing on some ordinance <br />amendments to address streamlining the approval and permitting process. <br />He stated that the Planning Commission would like more time on the <br />agenda next month to discuss this. <br />Council Member Ryan requested that the staff go back to the City -wide <br />rezoning and revisit the question that he previously asked regarding down - <br />zoning. He asked whether there were any other instances that may have <br />been down - zoned. Council Member Ryan requested staff to go back to the <br />city -wide rezoning to review each parcel and look at the old classification <br />and compare it to the new one and identify any possible issues that may <br />cause someone to be down - zoned. <br />7. Fire Department Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />
