Approve Plans and Specifications <br />10.1.13. Authorizing Advertisement for Bids <br />City Engineer Tim Houle reviewed the plans and specifications for the <br />South Oak Street Project. He explained that the project will consist of <br />improvements to South Oak Street from West Lake Street to Pillsbury <br />Street. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO APPROVE THE PLANS <br />AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO SOUTH OAK <br />STREET FROM WEST LAKE STREET TO PILLSBURY STREET <br />BASED ON THE PLANS PREPARED BY THE CITY ENGINEER, <br />WIDSETH SMITH NOLTING. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. <br />Tom Ryan noted the school's concern regarding the timing of the project <br />and the effect on the ball fields. <br />MOTION CARRIED 3 -0. <br />Tim Houle requested authorization to advertise for bids. He noted that the <br />bids for the project will be presented to the Council on April 7, 2009. Tim <br />Houle talked about breaking the project into two sections and depending <br />on how the bids come in there would be the option of awarding the bid for <br />one section only. He stated that the best scenario would be the entire <br />project. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS IN THE OFFICIAL PAPER AND THE <br />CONSTRUCTION BULLETIN FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO SOUTH OAK <br />STREET FROM ABOUT WEST LAKE STREET TO ABOUT PILLSBURY <br />STREET BASED ON THE APPROVED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />PREPARED BY THE CITY ENGINEER, WIDSETH SMITH NOLTING. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3 -0. <br />
