ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION—to advise the <br /> Council on economic development issues facing the he City. <br /> 6. LIBRARY BOARD—to advise the Council on the operations of the <br /> Library. <br /> B. Appointment Policy. It will be the responsibility of the City Council to offer <br /> appointment to the best qualified citizens to our Boards and Commission. <br /> 1. The Council shall offer eligible board members an opportunity to request <br /> �-- reappointment to the Board or Commission on which they serve. <br /> 2. All vacancies shall be advertised. <br /> 3. To encourage wider public participation on Boards and Commissions, <br /> most appointments will be limited to two consecutive terms. <br /> Board/Commission members who have completed their terms are eligible <br /> to apply for appointment to a vacancy on another Board or Commission. <br /> 4. The City shall encourage training for Board and <br /> Commission members. <br /> 5. All applications shall be kept active during the year for appointment to <br /> vacancies should they occur. The Council reserves the right to appoint any <br /> qualified candidates even though they did not apply as a result of an <br /> advertisement. <br /> 6. There is no implied guarantee of appointment or re-appointment to any <br /> Board or Commission. The sole responsibility for appointment to any City <br /> Board/Commission lies with the Mayor as the recommending authority <br /> and the City Council as the confirming authority. <br /> 9 <br />
