Mr. Marohn stated that one of the lots is located in Shady shores subdivision and the other is located in Brunes Royce Addition. He stated that the Planning Commission is recommending that the Council allow the County to classify the properties as "non- conservation" and place them on the land sale. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO CLASSIFY THE TWO PARCELS OF PROPERTIES AS "NON- CONSERVATION" AND PLACE THEM ON THE LAND SALE. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. Council Member Ryan questioned what public uses were reviewed. Chuck Marohn responded by indicated that the Planning Commission reviewed the property in relation to the comp plan, transportation, sewer and water infrastructure planning, parks, storm water retention, etc. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. 6.1.C. Comprehensive Plan Community Workshop Chuck Marohn informed the Council of a community workshop on the comprehensive plan that will take place on February 18th. Council Member Sjoblad questioned the timing of this study. He stated that municipal approval should be done prior to updating the comp plan. Chuck Marohn explained that the comp plan is broader than the highway and deals with many other factors. Tommy Woog stated that the comp plan revision will take about a year to complete and indicated that the transportation section of the plan is toward the end of the process. Council Member Ryan stated that due to the current economic impact on the City budget it is not prudent to spend money on a process that may need revision in a short period of time. Council Member Ryan suggested that this is an easy place to cut costs and not have a big impact in the City. He stated that the current comp plan is only five years old and that there will not be a lot of change in 09. Council Member Ryan stated that the road plan and Highway 371 project should be addressed first. Council Member Nagel suggested that if we are not dealing with Highway 371 in the early process, there is no danger to begin the comp plan update now. Mayor Adams stated that the Council needs to look to the future of the City. The Mayor suggested moving forward with the plan and putting the transportation study at the end.
