City Council Minutes <br />February 3, 2009 <br />Page 5of11 <br />-------------------- - - - - -- <br />Council Member Ryan stated that transportation is the most key <br />component for every other aspect of the city and therefore would put the <br />transportation study first. <br />Tommy Woog stated that the Council should continue with the process. <br />Council Member Malecha suggested putting the project on hold for four <br />months until municipal consent is made. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO BEGIN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />UPDATE IN FOUR MONTHS. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />6.2. Sub - Surface Sewage Treatment System (SSTS) <br />Chuck Marohn stated that the City is considering the possibility of <br />establishing an inspection program for sub - surface sewage treatment <br />systems. He noted that Dawn Bittner is collecting data that the city has. <br />IN, COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL DIRECT STAFF TO DEVELOP A REPORT <br />OF SSTS COMPLIANCE; WHICH WILL INCLUDE A METHOD TO <br />TRACK COMPLIANCE AND A METHOD TO USE THE DATA. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Nagel questioned if there are ways to track compliance <br />that will not be real costly to homeowners. Chuck Marohn stated that he <br />will research different ways to implement the program keeping in mind that <br />the program will have a minimal financial impact on property owners and <br />will be as non - intrusive as possible. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />7. Fire Department Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />7.1. Fire Department Grants <br />Chief Tom Nelson stated that the Fire Department has received two <br />grants. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING <br />GRANTS: <br />
