City Council Minutes <br />January 6, 2009 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />-------------------- - - - - -- <br />determined that If the road is closed it would direct traffic to another blind <br />intersection creating another unsafe situation. <br />The other road is Front Street by Highway 371 and County Road 17. It <br />was suggested that the north entrance of Front Street be closed and that <br />there be a passing lane on the east side of 371 so people turning left on <br />17 lessen the risk of being rear ended. Mayor Adams suggested having <br />the County Engineer review the situation. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO REMOVE THE ENTRANCE <br />TO FRONT STREET AT THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 371 AND <br />C.R. 17. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Ryan suggested that out of respect to the residents that <br />live in the area, the City contact them to get their input on this Council <br />action. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />11.2. Snow Plow Plan <br />1--.1 Mike reviewed the snow plowing plan. <br />12. City Engineer <br />12.1. Proposal for Engineering Services <br />Mike Rude presented a proposal for engineering services with WSN for <br />2009. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL FOR <br />SERVICES FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR 2009 FROM WSN. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />The Council questioned the amount of increase in the proposal. The <br />Council stated that they would like to see the engineering proposal remain <br />the same as the 2008 rates. Mike Rude reminded the Council that WSN <br />does not bill the City for attending Council Meetings. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />12.2. South Oak Street Proposal <br />`.1 <br />
