City Council Minutes <br />January 6, 2009 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br />----------------------- - - - - -- <br />LORI <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO REAPPOINT JAMES DEN <br />HARTOG TO THE PARK COMMISSION FOR A 3 -YEAR TERM FROM <br />JANUARY 1, 2009 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2011. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />9.6. Ordinance Repealing Storm Water Management Utility <br />The Clerk presented an ordinance that repeals the storm water <br />management ordinance as directed by Council in December, 2008. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 09 -01 <br />REPEALING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 3 OF THE CITY CODE <br />PERTAINING TO STORM WATER MANAGEMENT UTILITY. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />0. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE SUMMARY <br />FOR PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 09 -01. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />9.7. Update on Current and Future Budgets <br />The Clerk informed the Council that the Governor's attempt to balance the <br />State's 2008 budget resulted in a cut in State Aide to Pequot Lakes in the <br />amount of $44,020 and a cut in Market Value Homestead Credit in the <br />amount of $19,058. She noted that she will have the final 2008 budget <br />numbers for the Council in February. <br />The Clerk noted that we still don't know what the legislature's intention is <br />in regard to the 2009 budget. She noted that when this information is <br />received, the Clerk's office will be requesting the Council to call a special <br />work session to deal with this. <br />10. WaterNVastewater Supervisor's Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />11.1. First Street and Highway 371 <br />Council Member Nagel talked about two roads that he would like to see <br />some type of action taken to make these roads safer. One is the road <br />located between Highway 371 and Northern Food King. Mike Loven stated <br />that he reviewed this situation a couple of years ago and it was <br />
