COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Malecha stated that she does not feel that Sluetter Road <br /> is necessary at this time due to the economic downfall, the cost to the <br /> City, and the fact that we do not have the funds to proceed with the <br /> project. Council Member Ryan stated that paving a portion of North <br /> Sluetter would allow everyone on Wildlife Trail to have a paved road from <br /> C.R. 168 to their homes. He further noted that if the City ever decides to <br /> pave North Sluetter, there will be no opportunity to combine the projects in <br /> such a way that the assessment can be shared by the residents of Wildlife <br /> Trail. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad noted that the petitioners of Wildlife Trail were <br /> concerned about the dust and paving of Wildlife Trail and that they <br /> understood that they would travel on some gravel on North Sluetter Road. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO <br /> STATE THAT THE CITY WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WITH THE <br /> PAVEMENT OF NORTH SLUETTER ROAD. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> MOTION AS AMENDED CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 10- <br /> 33 ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR <br /> WILDLIFE TRAIL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. MAYOR ADAMS <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad questioned if all of the petitioners are still in favor <br /> of the project. He reminded the property owners that the cost provided is <br /> an estimate at this point. Council Member Nagel questioned if the City <br /> would have additional costs if the project proceeds from this point. Tim <br /> Houle noted that he would have proposal at the next Council meeting and <br /> the Council could then decide whether or not to continue with the project. <br /> Mayor Adams requested that anyone who signed the petition send a letter <br /> in writing stating their position. <br /> Council Member Ryan stated that the Planning Commission is studying <br /> whether it is appropriate for cities to continue to accept private roads due <br /> to the long range cost of maintenance.
