PEQUOT LAKES <br />PARK COMMISSION MEETING <br />THURSDAY, AUGUST 12, 2010 <br />CITY HALL <br />Members Present: Chair Tweed, Commissioners, Johnson, Clement, Jurchen, <br />& Den Hartog <br />Also Present: Council Member Malecha; Jeanyne Alderson, Office <br />Assistant <br />1. Call Meetinq to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Tweed <br />2. Approve Park Commission Minutes <br />Chair Tweed noted a correction needed in section 5B. Chris Tweed <br />should be changed to Chris Palmer. <br />COMMISSIONER JOHNSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE JUNE 10, <br />2010, PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER CLEMENT <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />3. Band Shelter Project <br />The Commission discussed the need for more money in order to complete <br />the railing and interior of the shelter. A hat was passed at a previous band <br />event and $167 was collected. They will pass it again at the next band <br />event. <br />The Commission also discussed the large flat wall on the back of the <br />shelter to be used as an advertisement board of events. <br />4. Purple Heart Memorial Flag Pole <br />No one showed up from the Purple Heart. <br />5. Gildner Park Update <br />The Commission discussed the need for more chips or sand to cover the <br />ground and make it safer for children. <br />The Commission discussed having Nancy Vogt from the paper take <br />pictures and publish them to let people know the park exists. They want <br />�- to wait until Mike Loven has had time to spray the park for poison ivy. <br />Chair Tweed would like to see some bird houses put in the park to dress <br />it up a bit. <br />
