that feels safe to travel a�The larger the speed difference,the more risk there is for high speed rear end crashes and run off the road crashes as drivers try to avoid slower moving vehicles. There are a few issues considering a traffic signal for this intersection.This intersection, likely, does not meet volume warrants for a traffic signal which means that it will not move traffic efficiently leading to additional delay to drivers overall.Additionally traffic signals that are isolated (not part of a larger corridor of signals or within a town)violate driver expectation of the roadway-drivers are not expecting to stop which leads to an increase in high speed rear end crashes and drivers blowing through the red light which can result in a right angle crash.When signals are installed we do see an increase in crashes. While the median is fairly small,a car or pickup can sit in it with slight overhang into Hwy 3711eft turn lanes.While this is semi-uncomfortable,it is much safer to take the crossing in two movements. Again,thank you for your concern.We will definitely be monitoring this intersection as well as collecting more data. This will have an impact on the amount of people at this intersection. chuck mackey MNDOT should be made aware of this increase in traffic on CoRd 29 LARRY and SHARON LIDBECK For sure- could have used a merge lane for cars from 29 going North from that intersection - wondering why can't there be reflective alert signage before that spot for 371 traffic both from North &South, as they fly by, i.e. �caution, uncontrolled intersection ahead" ? Glad to know I'm not alone in my concem about it
