Based on preliminary data, 65mph is likely the safe and appropriate speed limit for <br /> this area. 65mph is consistent with other four lane expressways in the state and is also the <br /> statutory speed limit for expressways.There is a safety issue if speed limits are set too low <br /> on a highway.Typically what will happen is that there is a small percent of drivers that will <br /> travel at the speed limit based on the signage alone while a larger majority will go a speed <br />
