City Council Minutes <br />July 6, 2010 <br />Page 4 of 9 <br />It was the consensus of the Council to authorize Mike Loven to get <br />an estimated cost to improve the approximate % mile on North <br />Sleutter Road. <br />6. Planning and Zoning Report <br />6.1. Virgil Dahl <br />Dawn Bittner presented the report. Dawn explained that the <br />Planning Commission is recommending that the City move forward <br />with prosecution of zoning violations. Virgil Dahl addressed the <br />Council and stated that he has heard that people are driving by and <br />complaining about his property. He stated that he has asked Dawn <br />and the Police Chief not to come onto his property. He stated that <br />they took pictures without permission. Mr. Dahl stated that he was <br />injured and has no help to clean up the property. He stated that he <br />will be receiving another injury check and will be able to clean the <br />whole place up. <br />Scott Pederson, Planning Commissioner, stated that he lives near <br />Mr. Dahl. He explained that this is not a neighborhood versus Virgil <br />issue. He explained that there have been people complaining about <br />the property at Planning Commission meetings and at Board of <br />Review meetings. He stated that the neighbors would like the City <br />to follow through to get the property cleaned up. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />CITY TO MOVE FORWARD WITH PROSECUTION OF THE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING VIOLATIONS. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />6.2.A. Ordinance Amendment Regarding Retail Uses <br />Chuck Marohn reviewed the staff report. He explained that the <br />purpose of the ordinance is to include retail use in the land use <br />matrix. He stated that the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the ordinance amendment. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 10 -08 <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO <br />THE DEFINITION OF RETAIL USE. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />� 6.2.B. Ordinance Amendment to Clarify Metes and Bounds Process <br />
