He explained that the <br />Planning Commission is recommending approval of this ordinance <br />amendment to clarify metes and bounds subdivisions within the <br />Transition Residential Zone. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT <br />ORDINANCE 10 -09 AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE CITY <br />CODE RELATING TO METES AND BOUNDS SUBDIVISIONS. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Ryan stated that this ordinance amendment is a <br />method of overly complicating simple matters. He stated that if <br />someone wanted to do a simple lot split, they'would be forced to go <br />through a conservation or conventional subdivision. <br />MOTION CARRIED 4 -1. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN OPPOSED. <br />6.3. Consideration of Purchase of Outlot for Future Road Purposes <br />Dawn Bittner presented the staff report. She explained that the City <br />�.. is able to purchase the property from the County for $900 plus <br />recording fees. <br />Council Member Ryan questioned why the City should buy this <br />piece of property. Mike Loven stated that it would be to the <br />advantage of the City to purchase the parcel for future street <br />expansion. He further noted that it could save the City money in <br />future right -of -way costs. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO ADOPT <br />RESOLUTION 10 -18 REGARDING OUTLOT B, BRANCHES <br />REAL ESTATE ACQUISITION. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />7. Fire Chief Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />7.1. Request to Purchase Fire Equipment <br />Assistant Chief Bill Rickard presented a proposal to purchase a fill <br />station and three air pack cylinders. Assistant Chief Rickard <br />�-- recommended that the Council approve the purchase. <br />
