City Council Minutes <br /> June 5, 2018 <br /> Page5of12 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> Dawn Bittner explained the Planning Commission is recommending to <br /> rezone 2 tracts of 58.2 acres based on the 14 findings of fact. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO APPROVE ORDINANCE <br /> 18-07 AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP REZONING PARCEL <br /> NUMBERS 290232100000009 AND 290232400000009 FROM PUBLIC <br /> TO LIGHT INDUSTRIAL. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 40. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br /> ABSTAINED. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br /> SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 18-07. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5-0. <br /> 6.6. Ordinance Amendment Establishinc� an Offsite Siqn Overlav District <br /> Dawn Bittner stated the Council had directed the Planning Commission to <br /> amend the sign ordinance to allow a minimum of two double sided <br /> billboard signs to be placed on City properiy along State Highway 371. <br /> Ms. Bittner explained the City Attomey recommended establishing an <br /> Offsite Sign Overlay District. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO APPROVE ORDINANCE <br /> 18-07 AMENDING SECTION 17-fi.9 ESTABLISHING AN OFFSITE SIGN <br /> OVERLAY DISTRICT, GOUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding where the signs will be allowed and <br /> how far apart they can be in the overlay district. <br /> Justin Burslie explained that anyone along the Highway 371 corridor can <br /> apply to include their property in the overlay district but the offsite signs <br /> are only allowed in light industrial and commercial areas per MnDOT <br /> regulations. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br /> SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 18-07. MAYOR ADAMS <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0 <br /> 7. Fire Report <br />
