COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Ordinance Amendment Establishinq an Offsite Sign Overlav District <br /> Dawn Bittner stated the Council had directed the Planning Commission to <br /> amend the sign ordinance to allow a minimum of two double sided billboard <br /> signs to be placed on City property along State Highway 371. Ms. Bittner <br /> explained the City Attomey recommended establishing an Offsite Sign <br /> Overlay District. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO APPROVE ORDINANCE 18- <br /> 07 AMENDING SECTION 17-6.9 ESTABLISHING AN OFFSITE SIGN <br /> OVERLAY DISTRICT. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding where the signs will be allowed and <br /> how far apart they can be in the overlay district. <br /> Justin Burslie explained that anyone along the Highway 371 comdor can <br /> apply to include their property in the overlay district but the offsite signs are <br /> only allowed in light industrial and commercial areas per MnDOT <br /> regulations. <br /> June 2i, 2oi8 Staff Report Page 3 <br />
