Chair Jurchen stated � development can take many years and there may be a prospect. The EDC is also looking at expanding the tax base of the City. Council ' Member Pederson stated this is a proactive approach. 4. Broadband/Fiber Optic Uadate Bob Perkins reported he mapped the locations and reviewed trouble reports. The majority of the businesses fell within the City. Most intemet troubles is within the premise and could be related to the computer. 5. Thrivina Communities Initiative Update Chair Jurchen reported the Quality of Life Task Force is working on the park improvements, the Economy Task Force is looking at signage and the Workforce Task Force is taking place in the School. 6. School Uodate Commissioner Lindholm reported they have teachers participating in an extemal partnership over the summer spending time with businesses to obtain knowledge they can pass on to their students. NJPA has made this available through a grant. Seven students are working on intemship programs. Amy Sjoblad is the Career Advisor. This is a result of the Thriving Community discussions. The Job Fair is this week which is a partnership with the Chamber to provide an opportunity for businesses to hire kids for the summer. Thirty- two businesses will participate. Intenriews took place for the Communications Manager position. Katie Wasserman was hired. 7. Chamber Uadate Ch�is Monroe stated she is very excited about the Job Fair and hopes it will continue for many years. There will be a Special Meeting of the City Council with the business community to discuss the Trailside Park improvements. There is some concem with the businesses how that all came about and this will give them the opportunity to ask questions and move forward.
