EDC Minutes I <br /> March 20,2018 � <br /> Page 5 of 6 I <br /> The Chamber is also working on signage. The goal is to have P 8�Z or <br /> the City Council open the issue of off premise signs along Highway 371. <br /> The Chamber is launching a Business of the Year to be recognized at the <br /> Community Picnic during Bean Hole Days, along with Citizen of the Year <br /> and Volunteer of the Year. <br /> April 26 with be the first Business Showcase at Lonesome Cottage. <br /> These will be held quarterly. <br /> Chair Jurchen reported a businessman from Brainerd stated Pequot Lakes <br /> needs a directional sign or business district sign. Chris Monroe <br /> encouraged the EDC to contact Council Members or Planning <br /> Commission Members regarding the need for signs. <br /> 8. BLAEDC Update <br /> No report given. Chair Jurchen reported the Unified Fund made 2 loans. <br /> 9. Citv of Jenkins Update <br /> No report. <br /> 10. Other Business <br /> Chair Jurchen reported he attended the Planning Commission meeting <br /> regarding the Comprehensive Plan update and thanked the Planning <br /> Commission for their time and effort. Information will be sent out for <br /> comments. <br /> Mr. Burslie thanked the EDC for providing comments. The Planning <br /> Commission agreed with those comments and were the basis for their <br /> discussions. <br /> Commissioner Lindholm stated April 2 will be a School Board work <br /> session to discuss the ballfield concept. Council Member Loukota and <br /> Nancy Malecha will attend, as well as WSN. He invited other EDC <br /> Members to attend. Discussion will include who owns the properly and <br /> who maintains it, as well as bonding to build it and levying to operate it. <br /> 11. Adioumment <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjoumed at 9:09 a.m. <br />
