Special City Council Minutes <br /> January 16, 2018 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> • Continue efforts to launch the Patriot Foundation to support <br /> workforce development efforts underway in the school <br /> district. There are currently 9 people on the Advisory Board <br /> for the Patriot Foundation and trainings are underway. <br /> Ms. Malecha added that through the Thriving Communities <br /> Initiative they have created the Pequot Lakes Community <br /> Foundation that includes nine advisory board members. The <br /> first training session was today, January 16th, and there is a <br /> series of four more training sessions. Ms. Malecha added the <br /> Foundation has not created a vision statement yet but their <br /> mission is to improve the quality of life in and around our <br /> community. <br /> 3.2 City Departments <br /> A. Administration <br /> Nancy Malecha presented the list of project priorities for the <br /> Administration Department. <br /> • Working with a consultant to analyze the City's current pay <br /> structure, external equity, and benefits. <br /> • Working with the Road Specifications Committee to <br /> categorize the road specifications. <br /> • Trailside Park— Phase 1, Maintenance Facility Project, and <br /> the Street Quadrant Project. <br /> • Facilitating road and land turn backs for the Highway 371 <br /> Expansion Project. <br /> • Training of the City Clerk/Treasurer and the Administrative <br /> Assistant on additional duties. <br /> • Participation in the NJPA Leadership Academy. <br /> • Work with the new Pequot Lakes Communications Director <br /> on a community marketing/communication strategy. <br /> • Continue to update City policies and ordinances. <br /> • Participate in the training and establishment of the Pequot <br /> Lakes Community Foundation. <br /> • Work with Planning and Zoning to review the zoning violation <br /> process. <br /> • Work with the new audit firm for City audits. <br /> • Work on getting quotes from telecommunications companies <br /> for internet and telephone services. <br /> • 2018 elections. <br />
