Special City Council Minutes January 16, 2018 Page 5 of 8 ----------------------------- • Continue efforts to launch the Patriot Foundation to support workforce development efforts underway in the school district. There are currently 9 people on the Advisory Board for the Patriot Foundation and trainings are underway. Ms. Malecha added that through the Thriving Communities Initiative they have created the Pequot Lakes Community Foundation that includes nine advisory board members. The first training session was today, January 16th, and there is a series of four more training sessions. Ms. Malecha added the Foundation has not created a vision statement yet but their mission is to improve the quality of life in and around our community. 3.2 City Departments A. Administration Nancy Malecha presented the list of project priorities for the Administration Department. • Working with a consultant to analyze the City's current pay structure, external equity, and benefits. • Working with the Road Specifications Committee to categorize the road specifications. • Trailside Park— Phase 1, Maintenance Facility Project, and the Street Quadrant Project. • Facilitating road and land turn backs for the Highway 371 Expansion Project. • Training of the City Clerk/Treasurer and the Administrative Assistant on additional duties. • Participation in the NJPA Leadership Academy. • Work with the new Pequot Lakes Communications Director on a community marketing/communication strategy. • Continue to update City policies and ordinances. • Participate in the training and establishment of the Pequot Lakes Community Foundation. • Work with Planning and Zoning to review the zoning violation process. • Work with the new audit firm for City audits. • Work on getting quotes from telecommunications companies for internet and telephone services. • 2018 elections.
