Special City Council Minutes <br /> January 16,2018 <br /> Page4of8 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> Road to Front Street and from East Sibley Street to West Lake <br /> Street which has a different set of parameters for development. <br /> Mayor Adams asked if the Planning Commission reviews the <br /> Comprehensive Plan on a regular basis. Ms. Bittner explained it <br /> is a document that they refer to quite often. Ms. Bittner added <br /> she believes the Comprehensive Plan should be looked at and <br /> updated a minimum of every ten years. Mayor Adams <br /> suggested that each section of the Comprehensive Plan be <br /> looked at and updated when necessary. The consensus of the <br /> Council agreed to direct the Planning Commission to review the <br /> City's Comprehensive Plan by gathering information from City <br /> and community groups. <br /> Council Member Pederson asked for an example of a ' <br /> redevelopment property. Ms. Bittner explained it would be a <br /> property that has deteriorated and if redeveloped it would , <br /> provide a greater tax base. <br /> F. Pequot Lakes Thriving Communities Initiative <br /> Nancy Malecha explained the three Task Forces of the Thriving <br /> Communities Initiative and their project priorities. <br /> Economy Task Force <br /> • Support and work with the Pequot Lakes Chamber of <br /> Commerce in the areas of communications, advocacy, <br /> engagement, networking, and serve as a catalyst group. <br /> • Sustainability of Facebook and website. <br /> • Complete the trademarking of logo and slogan. <br /> • Concentrated effort on reaching out and sharing the vision <br /> with businesses. Work with Communication Director to <br /> increase connectivity to business community. <br /> Quality of Life Task Force <br /> • Development of Hike/Bike/Ski Pequot trail mapping tool and <br /> communications. <br /> • Sledding hill research and development. <br /> • Skate Park fundraising and development. <br /> • Web promotions welcome page development and <br /> maintenance. <br /> Workforce Task Force <br />
