There being no further comments, Mayor Adams closed the public hearings for North Sluetter Road and Wildlife Trail. Council Member Nagel stated that there is no point in pursuing Sluetter Road as all property owners are opposed to the project. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED THAT NORTH SLUETTER ROAD NOT BE CONSIDERED PART OF THE PROJECT.COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. Council Member Malecha stated that she does not feel that Sluetter Road is necessary at this time due to the economic downfall,the cost to the City,and the fact that we do not have the funds to proceed with the project.Council Member Ryan stated that paving a portion of North Sluetter would allow everyone on Wildlife Trail to have a paved road from C.R. 168 to their homes. He further noted that if the City ever decides to pave North Sluetter,there will be no opportunity to combine the projects in such a way that the assessment can be shared by the residents of Wildlife Trail. Council Member Sjoblad noted that the petitioners of Wildlife Trail were concerned about the dust and paving of Wildlife Trail and that they understood that they would travel on some gravel on North Sluetter Road. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO STATE THAT THE CITY WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WITH THE PAVEMENT OF NORTH SLUETTER ROAD.COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION.MOTION CARRIED 5-0. MOTION AS AMENDED CARRIED 5-0. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 1033 ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND PREPARATION OF PLANS FOR WILDLIFE TRAIL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. Council Member Sjoblad questioned if all of the petitioners are still in favor of the project. He reminded the property owners that the cost provided is an estimate at this point.Council Member Nagel questioned if the City would have additional costs if the project proceeds from this point.Tim Houle noted that he would have proposal at the next Council meeting and the Council could then decide whether or not to continue with the project.
