DECEMBER 7, 2010 PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 5.1. & 5.2. Wildlife Trail Public Hearin�/North Sluetter Road Public Hearing Tim Houle, City Engineer,gave a presentation regarding the proposed improvements to Wildlife Trail and North Sluetter Roads. Items reviewed included: • Wildlife Trail improvement project was initiated by petition • North Sluetter project was initiated by Council motion • The history of the project • Estimated costs for improvements • Assessment approach - per parcel approach • Process for paying special assessments • Whether the City should take over Wildlife Trail as a City street Mayor Adams concurrently opened the Wildlife Trail and North Sluetter Road public hearings. Rick Wilson-1423 56th St.. Pequot Lakes-Chairman of Loon Lake Township Board. Mr. Wilson noted that the Town Board's position is they are satisfied with North Sluetter as a gravel road. He indicated that the Township is not in favor of making any type of financial payment toward the project. Council Member Ryan asked if the Township would oppose the project if there was no cost to the Township. Mr. Wilson stated that the township would not oppose the project if there was no cost involved. Dallas Anderson 3784 Wildlife Trail—Mr.Anderson noted that there are four homes for sale that can't sell because of an unpaved road. He stated that he is in favor of the project. Richard Bunker—6390 North Sluetter—Mr. Bunker stated that he was opposed to the improvement and assessment. He noted that all three property owners along North Sluetter road are opposed. He further stated that the cost was too expensive for three land owners to bear. John Hilts-6232 North Sluetter—Mr. Hilts stated that he was opposed to the project and that he liked the gravel road as is. He further stated that the cost was too high. Mitch Kittock-6256 North Sluetter,—Mr. Kittock stated that he was opposed to the project. Robert Needham-3788 Wildlife Trail—Mr. Needham stated that he was in favor of the project. He noted that he is trying to sell his house and feels that if the road was paved it would help in the sale of his home. John Terwilliger—7966 Lost lake Road, Lake Shore—Mr.Terwilliger stated that he was opposed to the improvement because of cost. Sam Lodermeier-239 Brid�e Ave.W., Delano, MN—Mr. Lodermeier stated that he was opposed to the project because the cost is too high. Wendy Ulrich—3925 Florida Ave N. Crvstal, - Ms. Ulrich stated that she is opposed to the project. She explained that she has no buildings on the property and that the cost of the
