asked Mr. Schoeb if 25 units is an appropriate number. Mr. Schoeb concurred; that
wouldn't be a problem.
Planning Commission Member Hallan asked if the applicant plans to use the vacant lot
as is;they are not bringing in any Class 5. Mr. Burslie stated the number of units is not
a direct correlation to impervious coverage;the applicant does not plan for any
impervious improvements.
Public Comment Opened:
Ken Henke,4239 Pillsbury Street— Mr. Henke stated he has no objection to the change
to include U-Haul rental, but was curious as to why it wasn't there to begin with. Mr.
Burslie explained this use was not part of the existing business and had not been
included with the original Conditional Use Permit.
Public Comment Closed.
Planning Commission Member Hallan asked for clarification of Conditian Number i
which states parking of trucks and trailers shall be along the north and south property
lines. The north properry line currently is treed and Condition Number 2 states no
existing trees shall be removed. Condition Number i should indicate trucks shall be
parked along the south edge of the existing trees along the north property line.
Planning Commissian Member Habein asked ithe screening could be shared by the
City, the property owner to the west, and the applicant. Mr. Burslie stated the Planning
Commission needs to just review this property. We can't require adjacent properties to
screen. This is the time to address the screening for the use on this property.
Mr. Schoeb inquired how many trees per foot are required. There are saplings along the
north property line that could be moved. Mr. Burslie stated typically there is a planted
height of 6 feet tall within 2 years. There may be twenty 6-foot trees required. Planning
Commission Member Wallin sfated the distance along the west property line currently
without trees is 2o feet. Mr. Burslie stated i2 trees would need to be planted.
Mr. Schoeb asked what the timeframe would be to have them planted. Planning
Commission Member Hallan stated we need to allow sufficient time for the planting to
take place, possibly an 8 or 9 month period.
It was the consensus of the Planning Commission that Condition Number 4 shall be a
malcimum of 25 rental trucks/trailers allowed and Condition Numbershall require a
total of twelve 6-foot evergreen trees shall be planted along the south 2o feet of the
west property line.
MINUTES 2
Pequot Lakes Planning Commission
October i9, 201
