City Council Minutes <br /> October 16, 2007 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> -------------------------- <br /> � <br /> • Long range capital improvement planning for water system and <br /> wastewater system <br /> • Long range planning for Industrial Park <br /> • Long range planning for growth <br /> Following discussion on the above, the Council made the following conclusions. <br /> • Decrease the WWTP expansion costs by one-half and move the <br /> project to 2012. <br /> • Add one new commercial user every other year <br /> • Include residential growth factor at 2°/o each year <br /> • Water Treatment System depreciation at 40 years <br /> • Stabilization pond depreciation at 20 years <br /> � • Commercial User Charge — Provide a different tier rating for <br /> charging commercial users rather than an across the board <br /> percentage <br /> Ehler's indicated they would re-run the numbers to reflect the Council's <br /> recommendations. <br /> 5. Water/Wastewater Supervisor <br /> The Clerk informed the Council that the offers made to three job <br /> applicants for the position were rejected. She indicated that staff is <br /> readvertising for the position. The Council liaisons to the <br /> Water/Wastewater and Street Departments are recommending that the <br /> Street Supervisor temporarily take over as the interim Supervisor to the <br /> Water/Wastewater Department. It is also recommended that an extra <br /> $2.00 per hour be paid to Mike Loven only until a Water/Wastewater <br /> Supervisor is hired. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE AN ADDITIONAL <br /> $2.00 PER HOUR FOR MIKE LOVEN, BEGINNING OCTOBER 17, 2007, <br /> FOR THE ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY OF SUPERVISING THE <br /> OPERATIONS OF THE WATER/WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT UNTIL <br /> A WATERNVASTEWATER SUPERVISOR IS HIRED AT WHICH TIME <br /> � <br />
