Ordinance Amendment <br /> Dawn Bittner informed the Council that the purpose for this amendment is <br /> to allow for a more efficient and streamlined court process to enforce <br /> abatement orders and to make property owners responsible for attorneys' <br /> fees and court costs incurred by the City during the enforcement process. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO AMEND CHAPTER 7 — <br /> GENERAL OFFENSES, ARTICLE 2 RELATING TO THE ABATEMENT <br /> OF PUBLIC NUISANCES. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-1. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br /> SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 17-03. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 4-1. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. <br /> 7. Fire <br /> The February 2017 Fire Department Operations Report was received by <br /> Council. <br /> 8. Police <br /> 8.1. Disposal of Unclaimed Property <br /> Chief Kiang noted the Police Department has accrued a collection of <br /> unclaimed bicycles that have been in their possession for more than six <br /> months with no ownership claims. The Police Department would like to <br /> collaborate with the Breezy Point, Crosslake, and Nisswa Police <br /> Departments to organize a large bike auction. <br /> Mayor Adams suggested the Police Department keep the selling price of <br /> these bicycles low to capture a greater number of interested individuals. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 17- <br /> 09 DECLARING UNCLAIMED PROPERTY AS ABANDONED <br /> PROPERTY. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 8.2. Police Officer Probationary Period <br />
