Planning Commission Report <br /> The February 27, 2017 Planning Commission Report and February 16, 2017 <br /> draft Planning Commission Meeting minutes were received by Council. <br /> 6.2.A. Ordinance Amendment Regarding Minimum Lot Size in the Transitional <br /> Residential Zone <br /> Dawn Bittner explained to the Council that the transitional residential zone is <br /> to provide a residential classification that serves as a buffer between urban <br /> and rural residential areas. The Planning Commission unanimously <br /> recommends the ordinance be amended to reduce the minimum lot size in <br /> the transitional residential zone to 2.5 acres with a minimum lot width of 150 <br /> feet to create a transition of minimum lot sizes from urban versus rural <br /> residential areas. <br /> Ms. Bittner stated that Mr. Kennedy's concern of decreasing the minimum lot <br /> size for a non metes and bounds subdivision would go away as the platting <br /> of one acre sized parcels is removed from the transitional residential zone. <br /> She further clarified that Mr. Kennedy's parcel is currently zoned rural <br /> residential and is slated to become urban rural transition on the proposed <br /> future land use map. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 17-01 TO AMEND <br /> CHAPTER 17 OF THE CITY CODE REGARDING TRANSITIONAL <br /> RESIDENTIAL ZONING CLASSIFICATION. Amendment Regarding the Integrated Growth Plan in the Comprehensive <br /> Plan <br /> Dawn Bittner noted the Planning Commission was directed to review the <br /> Future Land Use Map as it relates to the new alignment of State Highway <br /> 371.
