COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. <br /> Ms. Malecha explained to the Council that four general service signs will <br /> be placed on the Highway 371 expressway featuring the services of food, <br /> gas, diesel, and tourist information for Pequot Lakes. She further noted <br /> that MnDOT specifications limit the services that can be placed on these <br /> signs and services such as events, parks, and shopping are not allowed. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br /> SERVICES OF FOOD, GAS, DIESEL, AND TOURIST INFORMATION <br /> FOR PEQUOT LAKES ON THE GENERAL SERVICE SIGNS ALONG <br /> THE HIGHWAY 371 EXPRESSWAY. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Ms. Malecha informed the Council that landscape planning discussions <br /> will begin in the Fall of 2017 and will be coordinated by Matt Indehar from <br /> MnDOT. Funding for this project will occur in 2019. <br /> 10.2. Maintenance Facility <br /> 10.2.A.City Hall Garage Tour <br /> The Council received a tour of the City Hall garage area in an effort to <br /> visualize the space needs. <br /> 10.2.B.Vacant City Property <br /> Mayor Adams reviewed the Vacant City Property map with the Council. <br /> Vacant properties noted include: <br /> 1. Old City Dump, 1 acre <br /> 2. Water Treatment Plant, 2 acres <br /> 3. Stormwater Pond, 2.9 acres <br /> 4. MnDOT Turnback, 21 acres <br /> 5. Business Park Lot, 1.8 acres; and <br /> 6. Former Irrigation Field and MnDOT Turnback, 85 acres. <br /> Council Member Pederson questioned if property#3 is usable. Tim Houle <br /> explained this parcel could be used for City purposes by reshaping the <br /> stormwater hole and land around this area; however, it would not be large <br /> enough for the proposed maintenance facility. <br /> 10.2.C.Proposed Maintenance Facility Site <br />
