Skateboard Park Mayor Adams informed the Council that a subcommittee of the Park Commission has been meeting with students and parents who are interested in having a skateboard park in Pequot Lakes. Included in the research for the project was an informal poll at the Pequot Lakes Middle School which resulted in 210 students interested and excited about this park idea. Council Member Pederson questioned if locations for the skateboard park have been considered. Mayor Adams noted the location they are considering is the south parking lot at City Hall due to the close proximity to the Police Department. She explained the City of Crosby stated that the success of their skateboard park is a result of the location. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE PAYMENT TO 3RD LAIR SKATEPARK IN THE AMOUNT OF $250 FOR CONCEPTUAL SKATE PARK DESIGNS TO BE PAID FROM THE FUND BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10. Public Works 10.1. Highway 371 City Coordination Team Meeting Update Nancy Malecha updated the Council on items discussed at the February 7th Highway 371 City Coordination Team Meeting. Ms. Malecha distributed a City identifier sign design from Jeff Kreitz to the Council. She explained the dimensions of the sign and approximate location near the CSAH 11 interchange ramps for motorists to see traveling north and south on the Highway 371 expressway. Council discussion ensued as to sign locations, lighting, cost, and future signs along the Highway 371 expressway. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE THE CITY IDENTIFIER SIGN DESIGN FROM JEFF KREITZ FOR AN APPROXIMATE COST OF $10,000-$11,000 PER SIGN TO BE PAID FROM THE HIGHWAY 371
