City Council Minutes <br /> February 7,2017 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> The Council acknowledged Ian Ulrich's resignation from the Fire <br /> Department and thanked him for his years of service. <br /> 8. Police <br /> 8.1. Annual Report <br /> Sergeant Turcotte reviewed the Police Department's 2016 Annual Report <br /> with the Council. <br /> Mayor Adams commended the Police Department on the report. <br /> Council Member Pederson questioned if the increase in annual calls <br /> means there is more crime in the community. Sergeant Turcotte <br /> explained the type of calls also need to be examined and not only the total <br /> number of calls. <br /> Council Member Swanson requested clarification on the predatory <br /> offender registry process. Sergeant Turcotte explained the offenders are <br /> registered with the State and their local jurisdiction. Quarterly checks, <br /> periodic photographs, and updates to their personal information is a part <br /> of the ongoing registry process as well. <br /> 9. Administration <br /> The following items were received by Council. <br /> • January 4, 2017 draft Safety Committee minutes <br /> • January 17, 2017 draft EDC minutes <br /> • January 17, 2017 HRA minutes <br /> 9.1. Planning Commission Appointment <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPOINT BRIAN WALLIN <br /> TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR A THREE-YEAR TERM <br /> EXPIRING ON DECEMBER 31, 2019. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 9.2. City Projects Timeline <br /> Nancy Malecha explained that in an effort to keep the City on track with <br /> various major projects being discussed, Tim Houle and Staff created a <br /> timeline spreadsheet listing current and future projects and the estimated <br />
