City Council Minutes February 7, 2017 Page 6 of 7 Mayor Adams reviewed the Proposed Maintenance Facility Site map with the Council. This map notes the manhole location, Morehouse Drive extension, proposed maintenance facility and salt shed location, and the water and wastewater connection in relation to the City's former spray irrigation field. Council discussion ensued on the possibilities for the northerly portion of the City Hall property in relation to buildability, visual aesthetics, and Bergquist Drive connectivity. 10.2.D.Explore & Research Snow Removal Options Council Member Pederson discussed possible alternative options for snow removal that may need to be explored before the maintenance facility project moves forward. He presented plans for analysis and possible consideration. • Plan A— Utilize current snow removal process, purchase additional equipment, add additional storage space, hire an additional employee, and build a larger salt shed and purchase more material. • Plan B— Utilize current snow removal process, build a larger salt shed and purchase more material, and contract from private contractors for some snow removal services to offset the additional six miles of street turnbacks. • Plan C — Utilize current snow removal process, add 20% to snow removal time, and build a larger salt shed and purchase more material. • Plan D —Combination of Plans B and C. Council discussion ensued regarding contracting out for some of the snow removal services, priority of services on City streets, selection criteria of streets and parking lots to be included for analysis, and the future aesthetics of the gateway. The consensus of the Council agreed to form a Committee consisting of Council Members Loukota and Pederson, Mike Loven, and Nancy Malecha to work on the data analysis for the various plans presented and report their findings at the March 7th City Council Meeting. 11.
