Call Special Meetinq for Chief Interviews <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL <br />MEETING TO INTERVIEW THE POLICE CHIEF CANDIDATES FOR <br />MAY 10, 2011, AT 6:00 P.M. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />C. Police Chief Application Process <br />This item was addressed by Mr. Niemann. <br />D. Police Chief — Exempt Status <br />The Clerk explained that the Council had requested the staff to research <br />� the definition of exempt status to determine if the Police Chief position <br />would qualify. The Mayor stated that she felt the position does qualify for <br />exempt status. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED THAT THE POLICE CHIEF POSITION <br />BECOME AN EXEMPT POSITION. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Discussion was held regarding the recognition of overtime in the pay <br />structure. <br />MAYOR ADAMS REQUESTED THE JOB EVALUATION COMMITTEE <br />REVIEW THE SALARY FOR THE POLICE CHIEF BASED ON AN <br />EXEMPT STATUS. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. <br />The Council requested this information to be completed by April 2gtn <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />THE MOTION AS AMENDED CARRIED 5-0. <br />� 2.
