SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 5, 2011 <br />PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br />� <br />Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Malecha, Sjoblad, Akerson, <br />and Ryan <br />Members Absent: None <br />Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Dawn Bittner, Zoning <br />Administrator; Kate Petersen, Acting Police Chief; Mike <br />Loven, Maintenance Supervisor; Tina Nolden, <br />Water/Wastewater Manager; and Tim Houle and Mike Rude, <br />City Engineers <br />Call Meetinq to Order <br />Mayor Adams called the meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to <br />order at 6:00 p.m. <br />Pledqe of Alleqiance <br />Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />1.1. Police Chief <br />A. Rav Niemann — Apqlication Review Process <br />Ray explained the process for reviewing Police Chief applications. Mr. <br />Niemann stated that he understood the Council wished to review the <br />applications. Council Member Ryan stated that he would like to see who <br />and what type of individuals are applying for the position. Ray Niemann <br />stated that there will be a screening committee who will review the <br />applications and narrow the number to 12. Mr. Niemann also stated that <br />based on the number of applications received, we may not need a <br />screening committee. <br />Mr. Niemann stated that he would conduct phone interviews of the top <br />finrelve applicants and will write a narrative regarding each applicant. He <br />stated that he will then make a recommendation of the top six applicants. <br />The Council sta#ed that it would like to review the applications. Mr. <br />Niemann cautioned the Council regarding the data privacy issues in <br />� dealing with applications. The Mayor suggested that the applications <br />
