�... City Council Minutes March 1, 2011 Page 4 of 11 ----------------------------- The City Clerk explained that the Council reviewed this ordinance amendment at the January Council meeting. The Council tabled the ordinance to allow staff and the attorney to add language relating to administrative fine penalties. The Clerk stated that this language has been added. She noted that two other amendments that have been made since the January meeting is to eliminate the reference to the number of dogs allowed and to expand the licensing period to finro years. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO REMOVE THE ORDINANCE FROM THE TABLE. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. The Council reviewed the Dog Ordinance and made the following amendments: • Section 9-2.6 — Change the word "minimum" to "maximum." • Section 9-2.8 — Change the word "shall" to "may" • Section 9-2.12 — 4— Change "C" to "B" and "D" to "C" • Section 9-2.2 - 7(2) — Add the following "The owner of the dog shall be responsible for the expense thereof." \.. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO ADOPT THE AMENDED ORDINANCE — CHAPTER 9, ARTICLE 2 OF THE CITY CODE — LICENSING AND REGULATING THE KEEPING OF DOGS WITH THE SUGGESTED AMENDMENTS. MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. Council Member Akerson stated that he could not approve a document with so many changes. He stated he wanted to see the document without the red-lined changes. Council Member Ryan stated that that he has not had a chance to thoroughly review the document and suggested tabling the ordinance. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA WITHDREW THE MOTION AND MAYOR ADAMS WITHDREW THE SECOND. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOTION TO TABLE THE ORDINANCE TO ALLOW THE COUNCIL TO REVIEW THE DOCUMENT AND TO PROVIDE THE COUNCIL WITH AN UNMARKED VERSION OF THE DOCUMENT.
