. <br /> Section 35-060 Feedlot Standards. <br /> Animal feedlots must meet the following standards: <br /> 1. New feedlots must not be located in the shoreland overlay district; <br /> 2. Modifications or expansions to existing feedlots that are located within 300 feet of <br /> the Ordinary High Water Level or within a bluff impact zone are allowed if they <br /> do not further encroach into the existing Ordinary High Water Level setback or <br /> encroach on bluff impact zones; and <br /> 3. No corral or barn may hereafter be constructed closer than 300 feet to a residence <br /> on adjoining property. <br /> Section 35-070 Animal Units. <br /> For the purposes of this Ordinance the term "Animal Units" shall be used to establish an <br /> equivalent density for various species of livestock. The following animals shall have the <br /> following animal unit equivalents. <br /> Slaughter steer or heifer 1.0 animal unit <br /> Horse 1.0 animal unit <br /> Mature dairy cow 1.4 animal unit <br /> Swine over 55 pounds (ostrich& emu) .40 animal unit <br /> Swine under 55 pounds (ostrich & emu) .05 animal unit <br /> Sheep (goats & llamas) .10 animal unit <br /> Duck .20 animal unit <br /> Turkey .018 animal unit <br /> Chicken .01 animal unit <br /> Mink and similar fur-bearing animals .02 animal unit <br /> For animals not listed, divide the average weight of the animal by <br /> 1000 to arrive at animal units. <br /> Young animals shall not be counted until they are weaned Horses <br /> include mules and donkeys. <br /> Sibley Township Zoning Ordinance Article II 47 <br />
