Section 35-050 Feedlot Barn Standards. <br /> Feedlot barns must meet the following standards: <br /> 1. It is completely enclosed and capable of being aired out as necessary; <br /> 2. Outside ranging or pasturing of animals or poultry must not be a feedlot <br /> operation; <br /> 3. The facility must lie at least 500 feet from Public Waters or any adjoining <br /> property not zoned as Agricultural or Forestry and at least 300 feet from any <br /> residence on adjoining property; <br /> 4. No odor problem or air pollution problem therefrom shall adversely affect <br /> adjoining property used for residential or commercial purposes; <br /> 5. The facility shall have a concrete floor with no drain but may have an approved <br /> liquid manure storage tank which requires pumping to remove and no such <br /> manure is allowed to enter the soil on the premises; <br /> 6. Waste disposal for fertilizer, within MPCA prescribed limits, whether on or off <br /> the premises concerned, is a permitted practice. Waste disposable by any other <br /> practice, on or off the premises, shall be a conditional use. <br /> 7. All exterior areas used for handling, loading and/or storage of such animal wastes <br /> or manure shall be paved with concrete (or blacktop material of design approved <br /> by the Zoning Administrator) and comply with these provisions: <br /> a. A dike or curb must surround any storage area used to prevent seepage <br /> therefrom to adjoining grounds and to prevent water run-off from adjoining <br /> ground from running into such storage area; <br /> b. The design shall be such that all such stored wastes can be removed and the <br /> area cleaned adequately after such removal; <br /> c. Storage shall be permitted for not longer than ten (10) days except during <br /> freezing weather; they shall be removed by the following first day of June; <br /> storage for different periods of time may be allowed under a Conditional Use <br /> Permit; <br /> 8. Any other plan for disposal of Animal Wastes or Manure can only be allowed <br /> under a Conditional Use Permit; application therefore shall require complete and <br /> adequate plans and specifications therefore; such plans should be for disposal on <br /> or off the premises concerned. <br /> Sibley Township Zoning Ordinance Article II 46 <br />
