MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> AUGUST 19,2010 <br /> PRESENT: Tom Adams, Deb Brown, John Derksen, Bill Habein,Mark Hallan, Scott <br /> Pederson and Tom Woog. ABSENT: Cheri Seils. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Charles L. Marohn, Jr., PE, AICP <br /> ZONING ADMINISTRATOR: Dawn Bittner <br /> COUNCIL LIAISON: Craig Nagel <br /> The Planning Commission met at Wilderness Resort Villas at 5:00 p.m.for a site visit to <br /> ask questions and gather information. There were no deliberations or decisions made. <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PLAN DISCUSSION: <br /> Housing Section: <br /> Mr. Marohn pointed out the two photos included. He explained neighborhood design vs. <br /> auto oriented designs and how housing would develop in those areas over the coming <br /> generations. <br /> An article was included about smart growth and the types of return that cities get from <br /> different types of development. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the two pictures and the redevelopment that is induced by <br /> narrow streets, boulevards, and sidewalks.
