City of
AGENDA ITEM #8.1
Pe not
Lakes —
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Jen Anderson & Nancy Malecha
Date: April 4, 2017
Subject,: Disposal of Unclaimed Property
Report: By responding to bike calls, the Police
Department has accrued a collection of unclaimed bicycles.
The PD would like to sell these unclaimed bikes that have
been in their possession for more than six months. The PD
is considering collaboration with the Breezy Point,
Crosslake, and Nisswa Police Departments to do a large
bike auction.
The City Code states that before the sale of the unclaimed
property can proceed, a resolution needs to be adopted
declaring these bikes as abandoned property.
Council Action Requested: Council motion adopting the
attached resolution declaring unclaimed property as
abandoned.
