PEQUOT LAKES
PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
JULY 18, 2000
The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Planning & Zoning
Commission was called to order by Chairman F. Martinson at 6:32 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of Pequot Lakes City Hall. Present was F. Martinson, J.
Thompson, T. Saccoman and C. Clarke. Absent was G. Welu. Let the record
show that G. Welu was present at 6:35 p.m.
MOTION BY T. SACCOMAN AND SECONDED BY J. THOMPSON
THAT THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 20, 2000 MEETING BE
APPROVED. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
CARPET DIRECT/MOHAWK CARPET/RESOLUTION
Present was Greg Jensen, representative of C arp et Direct. Jensen explained
to the Commission the plans for the construction of a warehouse building
located in the Pequot Lakes Industrial Park, Block 4, Lot 8. The building
would be a 65x125x20 ft. tall warehouse. Carpet would be stored in the
warehouse on a short-term basis for local distributors. Photographs were
presented of other Carpet Direct Warehouses for the Commission to review.
F. Martinson voiced his concern regarding the lot that Carpet Direct had
chosen to build on. The lot is on an undeveloped section of the Industrial Park
and does not conform to the general plans for the development and
redevelopment of the City of Pequot Lakes.
After much discussion F. Martinson asked the Commission if they had any
further questions. Martinson made a motion to approve the resolution.
