<br /> Background Information: One of the Project Friorities for the Planning
<br /> Commission for the 202o Work Plan is to evaluate the gateways into town,
<br /> making them more inviting and welcoming to the City. This meeting, particular
<br /> focus should be given to Main Street between the roundabout and Rasmussen
<br /> Road. The segment from Rasmussen Road to Patriot Avenue will be discussed at
<br /> a future meeting.
<br /> Overall Vison
<br /> The purpose for a "gateway into a city is to give residents, vacationers, and
<br /> passers-by a feeling they are entering a place. The first impression of this "place"
<br /> from people visiting or going to the City will be from the gateway, as it is the
<br /> entrance to the City.
<br /> Desi�n
<br /> MN/DOT right-of-way extends from the roundabout west just past Bergquist
<br /> Drive, approximately 90o feet. As this area is part of the "gateway", the City
<br /> anticipates collaboration with MN/DOT for improvements creating a cohesive
<br /> appearance from the roundabout into town.
