<br /> AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SELLING, GIVING AWAY, OWNING,
<br /> POSSESSING AND DISCHARGE OF WEAPONS AND EXPLOSIVES
<br /> WITHIN THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES
<br /> SECTION 1, Definitions:
<br /> For purposes of this Ordinance, the following terms shall have the following
<br /> meaning:
<br /> Arrow means a slender shaft, pointed at one end, or
<br /> designed to have a pointed head or tip attached, and feathered at the other end.
<br /> Assault Weapon shall mean any weapon other than a firearm or
<br /> military-type weapon having the personal assault characteristics of any sap,
<br /> numchucks, blackjack, slungshot, sand club, chain club, police type baton, metal
<br /> knuckles, or shurikens, dirk, dagger, stiletto, switch-blade knife, spring blade knife,
<br /> push button knife or butterfly knife.
<br /> Bow means a flexible, curved strip of wood, metal,
<br /> fiberglass, plastic, or other material, with a cord connecting the two ends, designed to
<br /> shoot arrows. This definition shall include a device popularly known as a crossbow.
<br /> A bow and arrow is also defined as a bowed shaft of material such as metal, wood or
<br /> plastic, the ends of which are pulled into bow formation by a string, cord, wire or any
<br /> other type of material and used for the purpose of propelling an arrow by means of the
<br /> power developed in pulling the string against the tension of the bow, provided that,
<br /> such bow is rated at more than ten (10) pounds pull, and further provided that, the
<br /> arrow used is pointed or is equipped with a pointed head of metal, plastic or other
<br /> material capable of penetrating an object when propelled by the bow.
<br /> Concealed manner 's shall mean having the object on the person in
<br /> such a manner so as to conceal it from the view of any other person. For purposes of
<br /> this Ordinance, a knife carried in a sheath on a person's belt shall not be considered to
<br /> be carried in a concealed manner if covered by a coat, jacket or other out garment worn
<br /> by such person.
<br /> Knife shall mean a folding knife with a blade in excess of
<br /> four and one-half (4 1/2) inches, machete sword bayonet, or any fixed-blade knife not
<br /> meeting the criteria set forth for an assault weapon.
<br /> Military-type weapon shall mean any destructive device having firepower,
<br /> mass, explosive or incendiary characteristics of weapons such as cannons having a
<br /> bore diameter larger than one-half(1/2) inch, bazookas, machine guns, fully automatic
<br /> weapons, mortars, grenades, Molotov cocktails, but not including shotguns, rifles,
<br /> pistols or revolvers.
