II. WHP Evaluation Approaches A - D: <br /> Based upon the moderately vulnerable nature of the public water supply system, education about <br /> WHP and the proper management of wells and tanks is the primary focus of the plan. <br /> The following is a list of things the City has done towards WHP Implementation: <br /> 1. The WHP Manager has placed the WHP signs in visible areas of the community to alert <br /> the public about WHP. <br /> 2. A news release about what WHP is and a picture of the WHP signs was placed in the <br /> local newspaper. <br /> 3. The city is continually monitoring for changes in the DWSMA regarding new wells, <br /> tanks and land use changes which may impact the PWS wells. City Staff inquired about <br /> the placement of the used oil storage tank in the DWSMA with the MRWA Planner. <br /> 4. The WHP Team has decided to meet twice annually to discuss implementation efforts. <br /> The local consultant who developed Part Il, WHP Plan may also be able to assist with <br /> some aspects of WHP implementation. <br /> 5. The City of Pequot Lakes continues to maintain a WHP Budget for implementation of <br /> WHP activities. <br /> 6. The City of Pequot Lakes has tailored the MRWA Implementation Brochure to fit Pequot <br /> Lakes and will use it publicize WHP. The brochure is made available at City Hall and <br /> the Water Treatment Plant&can be distributed to area groups to inform them about <br /> WHP. <br /> III. New WHP Data: <br /> No new data relevant to WHP has been collected. The city will continue to monitor for any new <br /> wells that are being constructed in the DWSMA and work with MDH to collect new well <br /> information. Crow Wing County is in the process of working with the MN Geological Survey <br /> in the development of a geologic atlas. The City of Pequot Lakes supports this effort and <br /> information contained in the atlas will be useful in future WHP efforts. <br /> IV. Plan Implementation Administrative & Financial Concerns (A— D): <br /> The City of Pequot Lakes maintains a line item in the budget for WHP activities. The following <br /> items will be completed during the next 2 years of plan implementation: <br /> (See Chapter 5, WHP Plan): <br /> 1.
