City Council Minutes Page 6 <br /> September 7, 2004 <br /> -------------------------- <br /> �- indicated that the City received $701 for the old tractor and requested <br /> $9,000 from savings and $4,000 from the park and building fund to pay for <br /> the new mower. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br /> PURCHASE OF A 1-1420 JOHN DEERE COMMERCIAL FRONT <br /> MOWER AT $13,500 FROM NORTHWOOD TURF AND POWER WITH <br /> FUNDING OF $9,000 FROM SAVINGS AND $4,000 PARK AND <br /> BUILDING FUNDS. COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 8.3. Used Oil Disposal Site <br /> John Maatala, Crow Wing County Solid Waste Management Division, and <br /> Ed Larson, County Commissioner was present to request the City to <br /> consider allowing a used oil drop off at City Hall. It was noted that the <br /> installation cost would be paid by the County and East Side Oil. Residents <br /> would pay for the recycling on an honor system. It was suggested that the <br /> City Attorney review the contract. It was noted that the County would also <br /> pay for a pad for the City's existing recycling. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ENTER INTO A PUBLIC <br /> USED OIL COLLECTION FACILITY AGREEMENT WITH EAST SIDE <br /> OIL, CO. AND CROW WING COUNTY. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 8.4. DNR — Request for Storage Space <br /> Paul Lundgren of the DNR requested the Council to allow the DNR to <br /> lease space either at the old city hall or the new city hall to store a piece of <br /> fire suppression equipment. The Council recommended using the old city <br /> hall until it was sold. <br /> It was the consensus of the Council to let the DNR use the old City Hall for <br /> storage and the lease rate would be worked out with the Street <br /> Department and the Council Liaisons. It was also noted that the building <br /> could only be used until sold. <br /> 7. Fire Chief Report <br /> The Fire Chief presented the fire report. He stated that Lance Schmidt has <br /> resigned and that Tina Nolden is on military leave. Chief Nelson requested <br /> permission to add one more volunteer fire fighter. He noted that he would <br /> hire from the last interviewees. <br />
