Consider Recommendation to Hire Office Assistant Receptionist <br /> The City Clerk noted that the city received 73 applications for the position. <br /> She indicated that five of the applicants were interviewed and the <br /> interview committee is recommending that the Council hire Janet Wedan. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON MOVED TO HIRE JANET WEDAN AS <br /> OFFICE ASSISTANT/RECEPTIONIST FOR THE CITY OF PEQUOT <br /> LAKES AT $10.50 PER HOUR WITH A $.50 INCREASE CONTINGENT <br /> ON A SUCCESSFUL SIX MONTH PROBATION PERIOD. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6- <br /> 0. <br /> The Council discussed whether the new employee would qualify for <br /> payment in lieu of insurance. It was the consensus of the Council that no <br /> change be made regarding this issue until the Council reviews the entire <br /> insurance issue in October. <br /> 4. Open Mike <br /> Bob Olson representing Gloria Dei Church addressed the Council <br /> regarding the proposed backage road. He noted that the road destroys the <br /> parking area and the playground. He stated that he is opposed to the <br /> backage road. Mr. Olson presented an alternative route which included <br /> adding two overpasses. The Mayor suggested that the City Engineer <br /> review the proposal. <br /> 5.1. Final Plat of Evergreen Third Addition <br /> The Mayor stated that the Planning Commission conducted a hearing for <br /> the Final Plat of Evergreen Third Addition and unanimously recommended <br /> approval of the final plat based on 7 findings of fact. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE THE FINAL <br /> PLAT OF EVERGREEN THIRD ADDITION BASED ON THE SEVEN <br /> FINDINGS OF FACT PROVIDED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 5.2. Moratorium on Planned Unit Developments <br /> The Mayor noted that the Planning Commission has recommended that <br /> the City Council adopt a 12-month moratorium on all Planned Unit <br /> Developments and on any subdivisions within one mile of the TH 371 and <br /> County Road 11 intersection.
