City Council Minutes Page 7 <br /> August 3, 2004 <br /> ZONING DEPARTMENT AT $10.50 PER HOUR WITH AN INCREASE <br /> TO $11.00 DEPENDENT ON A SUCCESSFUL 6-MONTH PROBATION <br /> PERIOD. <br /> Council Member Bolz-Andolshek suggested that staff address any <br /> inefficiencies prior to hiring a new person. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 4-2. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE: COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON —AYE; <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD — AYE; MAYOR MALECHA — AYE; <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK — AYE; COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> PFEIFFER— NAY; COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN — NAY. <br /> Council Member Bolz-Andolshek requested the Clerk and Police Chief to <br /> re-evaluate the need for the position requested prior to hiring the new <br /> person. <br /> 10. Fire Chief Report <br /> Chief Nelson presented the fire report. He noted that Chris Greer has <br /> resigned from the Fire Department. The Chief also noted that the Fire <br /> Department is requesting the Council to hire six new fire fighters. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK MOVED TO HIRE THE <br /> FOLLOWING FIRE FIGHTERS PENDING PHYSICAL EXAMINATION <br /> AND BACKGROUND CHECKS BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br /> • JOHN LAUER <br /> • ANTHONY MAUER <br /> • NICHOLAS PUTNAM <br /> • MIKE SCHWANKI <br /> • PATRICK SELTER <br /> • DUSTIN ZEIMET <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> Council Member Bolz-Andolshek discussed the cost of the water line to <br /> the new City Hall. He indicated that he was under the impression that <br /> there would be no cost to the City for the installation of the line. <br /> Council Member Akerson arrived at this time — 8:40 p.m. <br />
