March 31, 2004 Page 5
Proposal for City Bldg Remodeling Consulting and Design Services
City of Pequot Lakes, MN
As we indicated previously, as of the date of this proposal, our discussions with the State
Elevator Inspector and elevator manufacturers are ongoing. Our above understanding is
the best that we have at this time. If this understanding changes, we will inform the City of
its impact on our effort.
We have not yet set a bid date for this elevator bidding package. While we anticipate it will
be within the next month, we will set a date when we have our information from the State
Elevator Inspector.
On all of the above tasks, while we are not the Code officials and we are not going to make
'inspection' site visits, please note that if we observe items that are not in compliance with the
Building Code, even if they do not relate to the question at hand, we are bound by professional
and ethical standards to point these out to the City.
We propose to perform the above services in accordance with the attached General Conditions
on an hourly basis based on the attached fee schedule.
I plan on being at the April 6th Council meeting to continue our discussion on all of this from the
March meeting. I would hope that you could review before then and let me know your questions
ahead of the meeting (or get them to Sandy and she can gather them up and get them to me). I
can then either get you an answer or come to the meeting with answers.
If you are in agreement with our proposed scope of services, please sign the next page and
return one copy of this letter for our records. We appreciate the opportunity to work with you on
this improvement that will benefit the City of Pequot Lakes for years to come.
WIDSETH SMITH NOLTING
Timothy M.
