Call Meeting to Order
Mayor Malecha called the special meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to
order at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2004.
Council Member Bolz-Andolshek indicated that this meeting was a workshop to
discuss the industrial park. He stated that the City is hoping to get information
from businesses in the industrial park and businesses interested in coming to the
industrial park in order to put together some information pertaining to
infrastructure and costs in the park.
Lonesome Cottage — Looking for approximately five acres part of which should
be screened due to log storage. Would like to move in about 4 to 5 months. He
also indicated he would like to know the cost of the lots and infrastructure.
Lonesome Cottage is interested in the JOBZ zone.
Cemstone —The Council questioned whether Cemstone would be willing to move
to a different location in the industrial park due to the issue of air quality related to
their business. Cemstone indicated that it would be costly to move because of
the well currently at their location. They also indicated that they currently have
two lots with an option on another lot. They would need to have the same if they
move. They would rather wait for a decision on the highway before moving but
would keep an open mind. They are looking for 6 acres long term and do not
need the JOBZ zone.
Baptist Church —The Church did not perceive that the City had sufficient funding
for sewer and water and are now in a position to put in their own septic system.
They are not required to hook up to City water and are capable of providing their
own services. They plan to begin their project in May.
L
